PORTUGAL 2007
The story behind the trip is that my dad was offered what me in my family call it: a 3 month summerjob, at EMSA (European Maritime Safety Agency), so my whole family went down to Portugal for the summer, my dad 3 months, and the rest for 2 months. I had such a great time, we rented an appartment with a pool, located only 10 minutes from shopping!
Though my dad worked in Lisbon, we stayed in an appartment in Cascais, a smaller city right outside of Lisbon, it was gorgeous!
Yeah, so we stayed there for two amazing months. We also got visitors. First out was the Jensen family, who stayed with us for 6 days:) Soo much fun. Later the Perez Navarro family arrived. They stayed a little bit longer; a total of 12 days (I think).
While we were down there we also did a little vacation in the vacation so to speak. We drove down south in Portugal, since Lisbon is situated on the west side. We also drove into Spain, where we checked out Sevilla, Algeciras and Tarifa. We also visited Gibraltar, which is an old English "colony" - the monkeys there are so cool! :) Anyways, after that we headed over to a new continent - AFRICA. We took the ferry over from Spain to Tangier, Morocco, and stayed there for two days..
All in all this trip was a one in a life time happening, and now I truly just love Portugal. If anyone is wondering where to travel, go to Portugal! A heartwarming country with real personality! I know that I'm defintley going back someday!
